    Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine - College of Medicine

    Responsibilities

    • The candidate will be responsible for conducting quantitative and/or qualitative Social Research, preparation of research reports, publications in refereed and other professional writings, and contributing to departmental research.
    • Responsible to the Chair of the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine.
    • Assigned a research load of at least seventy-five percent (75%) and clinical load up to twenty-five percent (25%) in Assignments of Responsibilities.
    • Clinical activities will primarily be providing evidence-based psychotherapy to adult patients in an academic outpatient setting.
    • Clinical responsibilities will include conducting diagnostic and treatment evaluations; developing individualized treatment plans; providing individual and, where appropriate, group psychotherapy; documenting care in accordance with institutional, professional, and regulatory standards; and coordinating treatment with psychiatrists, primary care clinicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

    Qualifications

    Candidates must hold an appropriate doctoral or terminal professional degree in a mental health discipline, such as an MD, DO, PhD, PsyD, DSW, LICSW, or equivalent degree, from an accredited institution. The successful candidate must be eligible for and maintain unrestricted professional licensure in the State of Florida. Physician candidates must be board-eligible or board-certified in psychiatry, as applicable. Psychologist candidates must have completed an APA-accredited doctoral program and internship, or equivalent training acceptable for state licensure. Candidates from other independently licensed mental health professions must meet all applicable educational, training, certification, and scope-of-practice requirements.

    Expertise in health services research, public health systems, and behavioral health care are essential for anticipated assigned projects and duties.

    Post-job offer, but prior to hire, the following will be required:

    Documentation of current PPD (Purified Protein Derivative) test as performed by a qualified physician, reporting negative results within the past six months.

    Within 30 days of hire, the candidate must provide:

    Documentation of Tetanus immunization within 10 years.

    Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccine or positive antibody titer.
