Job Summary
The Center for Global Health Equity (CGHE) at the University of Michigan has an opening for a postdoctoral scholar in the 2026 cohort of its Impact Scholars program. This program is designed to prepare exceptional early-career scholars for a global health career in academia, government, civil society, NGO, or advocacy as effective and influential leaders. Scholars will build a coherent body of their own work, and will also collaborate with peer scholars and CGHE faculty to help shape the Center's approach to defining and measuring the impact of its work on the lives of the world's most vulnerable people. This position will be term-limited to one year, with an opportunity for review and approval for a second year.
This Impact Scholar position will receive primary mentorship from Lynae Darbes, PhD, Professor in the Department of Health Behavior and Clinical Services, School of Nursing, University of Michigan, and complementary mentorship from a robust multi-disciplinary mentorship committee. The work will explore adolescent girls and young women's increased risks of HIV acquisition and depressive symptoms in sub-Saharan Africa.

Required Qualifications*
Completion of a PhD or other terminal degree; experience in protocol creation and program evaluation; demonstrated expertise in quantitative and qualitative methods; strong oral and written communication skills; experience with and willingness to work in low-resource settings; ability to work independently with direction, assume increasing responsibility and provide follow up; demonstrated ability to present ideas and results to diverse audiences; demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines and cultures.
