Description: Supervises and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in research and experimental testing. Maintains lab operations. May investigate complaints regarding lab services, equipment, and/or capabilities. Possesses, understands, and applies a comprehensive knowledge in area of specialization. Understands and uses effective management techniques.

  1. Manages the operation of two or more research laboratories.
  2. Assigns, checks, and monitors assignments of lab personnel.
  3. Maintains an adequate inventory of equipment, chemicals, and other materials.
  4. Estimates personnel needs to obtain lab and research objectives.
  5. Conducts personnel evaluations, recommends hiring and terminations, and performs other management functions.
  6. Operates with considerable latitude for unreviewed action.
  7. Reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of personnel.

Additional Posting Information:

  • Coordinate the development and monitoring of the budget, including oversight of financial activities and coordination of grant-related processes.
  • Manage procurement activities, including initiating purchases and reconciling P-Card transactions in compliance with university financial policies and procedures.
  • Strong experience in budget development, financial tracking, and grants administration.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks, and manage timelines.

Experience will be considered in lieu of education.

MQ: Bachelors Degree with 5 years experience.
