Position Summary
The Lieberman Lab is looking for a Research Technologist, whose main responsibility is to support the day-to-day functioning of a collaborative and cutting edge research immunology laboratory that studies the innate and adaptive immune response to infection and cancer.

The candidate will be expected to be on-site full time (40 hours per week) during core business hours to support the daily operations of the lab.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily lab operations.
  • Order lab and office supplies.
  • Keep lab supplies stocked.
  • Maintain and service lab equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
  • Prepare stock solutions and tissue culture media supplements.
  • Maintain a database of lab expenses including supply purchases and facilities and core costs. Provide PI with monthly accounting of spending.
  • Maintain databases of lab reagents (chemicals, antibodies, plasmids and frozen cells).
  • Perform routine Mycoplasma tests on cell cultures to detect and prevent contamination.
  • Oversee animal colony (including breeding and maintenance of knockout lines) and keeping track of animal inventory, cage counts, and animal spending every month.
  • Manage lab roster and assign safety & animal trainings.
  • Train new employees on lab procedures, safety and methods.
  • Coordinate annual lab safety inspection and ensure compliance with lab safety regulations.
  • Arrange shipping of transfer materials to and from other labs.
  • Submit all published plasmids to Addgene.
  • Assist with protein purification, cell culture, genotyping, and cloning when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: 
  • Bachelor's degree
Experience:
  • 4 years of relevant work experience OR Master's and 2 years of relevant work experience
