The Research Laboratory Technician supports the day-to-day operations of two research laboratories within the Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences at the University of Vermont. These labs investigate rehabilitation across the lifespan including areas related to interoception, mind-body interventions, motor control and learning, and sensorimotor function.
This position is responsible for operating and maintaining specialized research equipment including robotic systems, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), electroencephalography (EEG), and surface electromyography (EMG); setting up and conducting human subjects research sessions; managing and analyzing research data using MATLAB, SPSS, and related tools; and supporting study coordination and documentation across both laboratories. The technician works under the co-supervision of both Principal Investigators and collaborates with graduate students, undergraduate research assistants, and interdisciplinary collaborators across UVM departments.
