Responsibilities
This position is for a site based research pharmacist in Rochester. This position will include rotating shift assignments among the Rochester Methodist Research Pharmacy, Saint Marys Research Pharmacy, Brackenridge Outpatient Research Pharmacy, and Gonda 10 pharmacy. The schedule involves Monday - Friday eight-hour day shifts with variable start times between 06:00 and 08:30. Approximately one out of every 10 weeks will be on-call to respond to issues that may arise during hours the research pharmacy is closed.
Responsible for dispensing investigational medications and direct patient care needs of patients participating in research studies at Mayo Clinic. Serves as a resource to study teams, local pharmacy teams, and nurses for patient-specific investigational medication questions. Conduct eConsults to compare patient medications to study criteria and participate in site readiness activities.
Provides medication management services in coordination with other health care professionals to deliver safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapy to patients. Responsibilities may include assessment of medication therapy regimens, medication therapy management, medication order verification/entry, medication distribution, medication therapy monitoring, and consultation, documentation of medication therapy plans, and medication use education and pharmaceutical care services. Participates in collaborative practice and/or protocol-driven practice as appropriate. Additionally, pharmacists are active members in quality improvement, research activities, and education as described in the job specific competencies.
Qualifications
Minimum education and/or experience required:
Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree or equivalent experience. Equivalent experience includes at least two years of relevant pharmacy practice experience. Commitment to excellence, accuracy, attention to detail and teamwork. Skills in procedural/professional writing and professional presentations. Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively with others, organize time well, solve problems, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional qualifications:
The following are preferred: Prior experience in Hematology / Oncology. Completion of an accredited pharmacy residency and/or fellowship and/or one year relevant pharmacy experience. Experience in investigational drug service. History of scholarly activities including publication and scientific meeting presentations. Experience and/or interest in teaching.
Other advanced degrees (e.g., Master's, Ph.D.) and applicable Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) or other certification applicable to the position as determined by the supervisor preferred. Completion of pharmacy residency and specialization (e.g., PGY-2 and respective BPS certification), if applicable, preferred. Evidence of ongoing scholarly pursuits including research/quality improvement, publications, or scientific presentations preferred. Relevant applicable pharmacy experience working in a progressive and collaborative practice environment preferred. Experience and/or interest in teaching and/or precepting preferred. Commitment to excellence, accuracy, attention to detail and teamwork required. Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively with others, organizes time well, practice with an agile mindset, solve problems, and work independently with minimal supervision required.
License/Certification: Current pharmacist license by the Board of Pharmacy in the state(s) of the job's practice site, or eligible to obtain within a time frame compliant with the site's applicable employee licensure policy. May not independently fulfill responsibilities reserved only to a pharmacist until license is obtained.

$119,208 - $188,260 / year; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. Salary range is based on 64 - 80/pp
