Research Program Manager, Clinical Research

Position Summary:

This position oversees and supports advanced technology development of medical research products developed in collaboration with the 711th Human Performance Wing (711th HPW) and the En Route Care product area. This job requires a combination of program management, financial management, and relationship building to ensure program success as well as delivering operational medical products to the warfighter.

The position will need to have expertise in team building, multiple stakeholder management, and technical management to accelerate technology development and delivery of research products.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple stakeholder management agreements by building agreements to ensure research programs deliver products ready for transition to the warfighter.
  • Program management and oversight of advanced technology development efforts supporting medical products, especially for En Route Care.
  • Identify, monitor, manage, communicate and be accountable for the research program risks ensuring successful delivery on time, on schedule and within budget.
  • Solves complex problems, including defining user needs and requirements, managing advanced technology efforts, and resolving technical, schedule, and stakeholder challenges across multiple research programs.
  • Manage cross‑functional and multi‑stakeholder research efforts that deliver critical medical products to the warfighter
  • Drive and develop new research efforts that can deliver critical medical products to the warfighter.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in technology management, business management, or similar degree.
  • 8 years of experience in a healthcare or clinical setting including program management.
  • 2 years of experience coordinating stakeholders to define user needs and requirements.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-year research and development portfolios, preferably involving medical or human performance technologies.
  • Experience developing and implementing program management plans, including risk management, schedule management, and communications plans.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret research data and technical reports to support decision-making and prioritization of efforts.
  • Experience with contracts, and budgeting processes, including cost tracking and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications and Desired Competencies:

  • Experience performing R&D management in a DoW environment.
  • MBA, PMP, or equivalent advanced degree/certification
  • Knowledge of federal acquisition processes to support technology transition and productization efforts.

Location:

  • Onsite at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB)

Physical Demands:

  • Travel required to domestic US sites - up to 10%.
  • Ability to work in an office and research environment.
  • Required to sit and stand for long periods (Frequent).
  • Required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent).

The salary range for this role is:

$29 - $44
