The candidate is expected to independently drive cross-functional learning across multiple groups to understand and define metrics for Josephson junction tunability in the context of quantum gates, and will coordinate experiments at both elevated and cryogenic temperatures. The candidate is expected to disseminate results through impactful patents and represent IBM in professional meetings and societies. **Required technical and professional expertise** * Proven record of research accomplishment * Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related experience in materials science and superconducting qubits. * Familiarity with programming languages (Python or equivalent). **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Doctorate degree in Engineering, Physics, or related experience in materials science. * Familiarity with quantum technologies and fabrication/process knowledge. * Familiarity with 200/300mm wafer probing stations. * Familiarity with cryogenic dilution refrigeration systems and optimizing quantum gates.
