Responsibilities:
Analyze, model, and optimize the performance, robustness, and efficiency of large-scale multimedia streaming systems, including video on demand, live streaming, and real-time communication systems serving billions of users.
Design and develop novel algorithms, system architectures, and end-to-end streaming solutions for emerging media formats, such as 360-degree video, volumetric video, light field media, and other next-generation immersive content.
Study, develop, and improve evaluation metrics, models, and methodologies for Quality of Experience (QoE) analysis in large-scale production streaming environments.
Conduct innovative research at the intersection of multimedia, distributed systems, and networking, with an emphasis on practical impact and technology transfer to real-world products.
Collaborate cross-functionally with research scientists, engineers, and product teams to prototype, validate, and deploy research outcomes into production systems.
Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals, and contribute to invention disclosures, patent applications, and technical proposals.Minimum Qualifications
Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, systems, networking, and software design.
Proven research track record, demonstrated through publications in recognized conferences or journals in multimedia, networking, systems, or related areas.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to formulate research questions and translate ideas into practical solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Research or hands-on experience in CDN architecture, large-scale content delivery, or traffic optimization for streaming systems.
Experience in transport protocol design, congestion control, adaptive bitrate streaming, or latency-sensitive media delivery.
Experience applying machine learning or reinforcement learning to multimedia streaming, media processing, or network optimization problems.
Familiarity with emerging streaming systems and applications, such as cloud gaming, cloud XR, immersive media delivery, or interactive real-time multimedia systems.
Demonstrated ability to drive research from idea generation to publication, prototype development, and product impact.
