Job Summary

The School of Cybersecurity and Privacy is seeking to hire a Research Scientist II to serve as the primary project coordinator for the schools sponsored research projects, ensuring effective project management, compliance, and coordination across multiple funded research initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary project coordinator for the ARPA-H UPGRADE (H-VIPER) sponsored research project
  • Track project deadlines, deliverables, and action items across a multi-institutional research team
  • Coordinate meetings and follow-up with students, collaborators, and external partners (GTRI, university partners, industry, hospital collaborators)
  • Prepare and organize technical documentation, sponsor reports, and materials for ARPA-H interactions
  • Maintain awareness of project progress and ensure technical milestones are translated into required reporting formats
  • Support the PI in managing the operational aspects of the sponsored research program
  • Conduct independent research tasks as assigned within the scope of the H-VIPER project

Required Qualifications

Research Scientist II

  • Three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of Masters or
  • Five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of Bachelors or
  • Doctoral Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sponsored research, project coordination, or research operations in an academic or federal research setting
  • Familiarity with federal research agency requirements and reporting processes (e.g., ARPA-H,DARPA, NIH, NSF)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks across a distributed team
  • Experience coordinating with multi-institutional research teams including university, government laboratory, and industry partners
  • Proficiency with project tracking tools and technical documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
