IDR is seeking a Research Scientist to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Jacksonville, FL. This role is within the biomedical research and medical device industry, focusing on neuro-related product development and scientific investigation. The position involves leading research activities, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and engaging with external scientists and organizations.
Position Overview for the Research Scientist:
- Responsible for leading and supporting investigational and research activities for neuro-based stereotactic products.
- Drives research planning, study execution support, outcome tracking, biological evaluation, and risk assessment documentation to support product development and regulatory objectives.
- Serves as a scientific subject matter expert and advisor to cross-functional teams including R&D, Regulatory, Marketing, and Clinical Affairs.
- Acts as a key scientific liaison with external key opinion leaders, laboratories, suppliers, CROs, and partner organizations.
- Collaborates across design, process engineering, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and site teams to advance research initiatives and support broader neuro-related project needs.
Requirements for the Research Scientist:
- Master’s degree in neuroscience, biomedical science, biology, toxicology, materials science, or a related field; PhD or DVM preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience with a Master’s degree; or 3+ years with a PhD or DVM.
- 3-5 years of research experience in neuroscience, tissue histology, or related preclinical research areas.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in preclinical in vivo research, including large animal model testing.
- Experience with biological safety risk assessment and supporting regulated product development.
