The Research Specialist II will help lead and carry out out molecular, physiological, behavioral and genetic projects in the mosquitoes Aedes aegypti and Anopheles gambiae and the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster. Works both independently as well as in collaboration with PhD students and post-doctoral fellows on research projects. Helps direct and oversee undergraduates and technical staff.
Job Description:
Carries out and helps lead molecular and genetic studies in mosquitoes and fruit flies. Works independently as well collaboratively with PhD students, post-doctoral fellows and technical staff on research projects. (75%)
Helps oversee the training of new lab members, as well as undergraduates and technical staff (15%)
Oversees the maintenance of Drosophila stocks by undergraduate workers. (5%)
Helps oversee lab calendar, website and scheduling. (5%)
The salary range for the position is $63.4k to $67.7k
Job Requirements:
MA/MS degree or PhD in Biology required.
3-5 years of relevant experience required
