Job Summary:

This is an opportunity to participate in patient-centered translational research for an NIH-funded study. This person will obtain consent, ensure blood samples are obtained, enter and analyze data, and participate in the writing of peer-reviewed manuscripts and additional grant applications. This position works closely with the Principal Investigator, physicians, scientists, nurses, laboratory technicians, and other administrative staff at the hospital and the University. Previous people in this position have had multiple peer-reviewed publications and attended graduate and medical school.

Please note: Supervisor provides objectives and deadlines. Work is reviewed for fulfillment of objective and deadlines and overall compliance with policy and procedures. EE completes some activities without direction, informing supervisor only of potentially controversial matters, and/or far-reaching implications.

Specific Responsibilities:

Technical • Recruits study participants. • Reviews & obtains informed consent. • Schedules study visits with participants. • Conducts interviews. • Scores test results. • Collects survey data. • Reviews medical records. • Consults with nurses & physicians to determine pretreatment & eligibility requirements of protocol from completion to registration of participants. • Facilitates communication with key personnel & participants to maintain project study flow.

Administration • Maintains detailed records of results which may include collecting, extracting & entering data; &/or preparing basic charts & graphs. • Completes portions of grant applications &/or documents associated with current local, state, & federal regulatory guidelines, requirements, laws & research. • Finance • May process reimbursements for travel expenses. • Processes invoices &/or purchase requisitions. • Coordinates fund distribution among multiple sponsors and clinical sites. • Miscellaneous • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelors or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.

Must complete NUs IRB CITI training before interacting with any participants & must re-certify every 3 years.

Minimum Competencies:

• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and data. • Ability to write and communicate clearly. • Ability to complete administrative documents.

Preferred Competencies:

• Working knowledge of R, Python (scikit-learn), or similar quantitative software. • Understanding of introductory to intermediate statistics. • Data management skills with Microsoft Access, R, or similar software.

Target hiring range for this position will be between $17.05 - 21.31 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
