Research Support Specialist

Overview:

IAT is seeking a Human Subject Research Support Specialist to support our client’s Research Directorate's (RD) Human Research Protection Program (HRPP). The Specialist will be responsible for assisting with completing and tracking necessary documentation and review processes to ensure that research activities follow best practices and comply with ethical, regulatory, and legal requirements.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Provides recommendations regarding routine matters related to the protection of human subjects for the RD.
• Provides technical recommendations to researchers regarding human subject research documentation and process issues with respect to routine IRB requirements.
• Supports the development and advancement of IRB educational materials, IRB orientation activities and training activities.
• Provides assistance with the development, documentation and revision of HRPP and IRB policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Notifies IRB members of required meeting attendance and review assignments.
• Notifies Research Teams of IRB review after actions, in concert with the IRB Chair.
• Provides technical support to IRB meetings and review activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• At least one (1) year of Human Research Protection Program experience supporting either an Institutional Review Board (IRB) or a Human Protections Administrator (HPA) preferred.
• Certified IRB Professional (CIP), Certified IRB Manager (CIM) or similar certification is preferred.
• Experience with DoD Human Subject Research (HSR) assurance processes and requirements, including DODI 3216.02, is preferred.

Security Clearance Requirement:

• Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive or classified information. TS/SCI required.
