BASIC FUNCTION:
Support research by exploring funding opportunities, assisting in grant proposal preparation and submission, and operational support by assuring compliance with UI policies, state and federal laws. Key areas of responsibility include grant preparation (pre-award), regulatory compliance, operational/administrative support, external communications and negotiations, leadership and supervision.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Grant Exploration and Development:
Prepare grant and contract applications. This includes NIH, other Federal agencies, medical associations and foundations as well as industry applications.
Prepare research/grant proposals; evaluate requests for proposals (RFP); review proposals prior to submission.
Prepare budgets for outgoing grants in accordance with Instructions.
Support multiple research submissions.
Gain access to eRA Commons as a delegate for faculty members who are applying for Federal grants.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
1 year of related experience is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel is required.
Experience with various agency on-line application systems is desirable.
Experience with the CAYUSE proposal submission system is desirable.
Experience with NIH eRA Commons as a delegate is desirable.
