About Us
The Hormigo Laboratory at Albert Einstein College of Medicine develops personalized immunotherapies for advancing cancer treatment, working across the full pipeline from discovery to early clinical development. We are looking for a Research Technician C to join a collaborative, translational team working directly with human samples and immune-based assays.
This is an excellent role for someone with strong bench skills who wants exposure to cutting-edge immunotherapy research and a pathway toward graduate or medical school, or long-term research careers.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
To contribute to ongoing immunotherapy projects by:
- Processing human blood samples (PBMC and serum isolation)
- Performing tissue culture using rigorous sterile technique
- Cryopreserving and recovering primary cells
- Running and supporting immune assays, including:
- Flow cytometry
- ELISPOT
- Cytotoxicity assays
- Cytokine analysis
- T cell assays
- Differentiating immune cell populations (PBMC-based work)
- Preparing samples for tissue imaging
- Supporting in vitro and in vivo experimental workflows
- Maintaining clear, accurate lab records and protocols
- Presenting data at internal lab meetings
- Help maintain lab operations (ordering supplies, tracking inventory)
- Assist with equipment purchasing (quotes, vendor coordination)
- Support optimization or modification of protocols O
- occasionally train or guide junior lab members
- Contribute to data organization and light analysis
- Participate in manuscripts or grant preparation (as appropriate)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in biology, immunology, or related field with 2 to 4.5 years of related experience
- Hands-on experience with cell culture and sterile technique is preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is desirable;
- Experience with flow cytometry, ELISPOT, or immune assays is preferred
- Familiarity with human sample processing (PBMCs) is preferred
- Proficiency in basic molecular biology skills
- Exposure to data analysis tools (e.g., FlowJo, Prism) is preferred

In compliance with NYC''s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rates for this are listed below. This rate is based on the 1199 bargaining unit contract.
