Position Summary

This temporary contributing-level position will provide entry-level support for research projects and routine laboratory activities in the Milner laboratory. Duties will include assisting with laboratory maintenance, stocking supplies, washing and sterilizing glassware and laboratory materials, organizing work areas, labeling samples, and helping keep laboratory spaces clean and orderly. The position may assist with preparing basic reagents and materials for experiments and helping maintain laboratory inventories under supervision by senior lab members.

The position will support postdoctoral fellows, students, and research staff by preparing materials, maintaining routine records, entering data, and assisting with general laboratory tasks as assigned. Prior research experience is not required, and training will be provided for assigned duties. Work will be performed according to established laboratory procedures, safety guidelines, and instructions from the PI or senior laboratory personnel.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Management Preferences

  • Prior experience working in a laboratory setting
  • Experience with routine laboratory maintenance such as washing and sterilizing laboratory materials, ordering or organizing supplies, preparing common reagents, maintaining inventory, or following written protocols
  • Familiarity with basic molecular or immunology-related techniques such as PCR, genotyping, ELISA, or basic tissue culture
  • Experience working with or assisting with mouse colony maintenance
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
