Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Research Technician in Jupiter, FL.

The Research Technician will support research activities in the laboratory for the Department of Biological Sciences at Florida Atlantic University, Jupiter Campus. Assist with laboratory operations, animal care, and zebrafish husbandry, experimental procedures, data collection, record keeping, inventory management, and training and mentoring student researchers. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing neuroscience research projects while helping establish and maintain a newly developed research laboratory.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Responsible to the Director, Associate Director or Assistant Director, of the program/service area, or appropriate administrator.

• Responsible for coordinating activities administered by the research program or service area and in the development and implementation of procedures for the program/service area.

• Responsible for assisting in the interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures as they apply to assigned areas of responsibility.

• May recommend changes on policy/procedures as necessary. Coordinates special studies or projects as directed.

• May serve as liaison between the program/service office and outside agencies and the general public.

• Performs related duties as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions of his/her area.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

Salary:

$41,600.00 *Annually.
