Department Information

Housing and Residence Life is passionate about the Georgia Tech residential student experience. With 97% of all first-year students choosing to live on campus, we create spaces and opportunities for Yellow Jackets to grow and connect from their first day of college through their graduate studies. We are proud to support our students personal development and academic endeavors while providing a safe and comfortable living environment.

Our department is a large and complex organization supporting over 8,700 on-campus residents among 49 traditional, suite, and apartment-style residence halls, some of which were constructed for the 1996 Summer Olympics. Our team of 200+ professional staff and 300+ student staff from six units supports residents directly and indirectly with their unique talents. We are housed within the Campus Services division, which includes many student service offices.

Job Summary

Perform laboratory and research-related processes in support of research efforts conducted within a laboratory environment. Set up and conduct more advanced testing under general direction. This position will interact regularly with lab supervision and coworkers. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Perform instrument calibration for testing processes.

Job Duty 2 -

Obtain the required materials and supplies needed for the testing process.

Job Duty 3 -

Conduct assigned tests based on procedures and test objectives.

Job Duty 4 -

Prepare and submit basic reports on test results.

Job Duty 5 -

Monitor testing processes relative to applicable safety and quality management requirements.

Job Duty 6 -

May provide limited work direction to student assistants

Job Duty 7 -

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Technical Diploma, Associates Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience

Two to three years of job-related experience

Proposed Salary

Pay Range: $40,000-$42,000/yr.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS

Use of hand tools and operation of electrical and mechanical components; PC operation; lab testing related processes.
