The Adams County Reserve Deputies volunteer their time and talents to help the sheriffs office deliver its day-to-day law enforcement services and to assist during emergencies. All reserve deputies are required to maintain the same high standards of conduct required of any deputy sheriff. Reserve Deputies are required to work one shift per month in the following divisions of the sheriff's office: Jail, Patrol, Detectives, Professional Standards, Training, or the Office of the Sheriff.You must have been through a full police academy and are currently still POST certified or were previously fully certified here or in another state and have attended a refresher academy to be eligible to apply. Volunteers must be Colorado P.O.S.T. Physical Fitness Test Battery (mandatory participation)The physical fitness assessment is a series of four tests to include: cadence push-ups, sit-ups, a 1 1/2 mile run, and a flexibility test. Candidates must obtain a 70% or greater in the oral board to continue.Candidates that pass the testing phase will move on to backgrounds.
