Residence Life Coordinator (Operations Assistant II), Salary: $36,608 - $44,845 per year, USCA Housing
The Residence Life Coordinator in Pacer Downs is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive residence life program which enhances the growth and development of residential students while supporting the academic mission of the University. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledgeable in residence life programming, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with diverse constituencies, knowledge of principles of student development, and strong student-centered philosophy. This person will serve as a live-in after-hours manager for an on-campus housing complex which houses approximately 356 students, faculty, and staff. Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Job Duty
Provides leadership and supervises the student resident mentor (RM) program. Hires, trains, supports, supervises, and evaluates 8-10 resident mentors. Works closely with RMs in providing support and services to residents in communicating housing policies and procedures and in developing a supportive living/learning environment.

Provides administrative responsibilities related to housing and residence life programs, such as assignments, room changes, occupancy reports, damages, and (e.g. Summer School, Interns, Camps and Conferences) and Summer Projects. Involved in managing budget, evaluating programs, and developing short and long-term plans. Assists in developing and implementing programs and services in other student services areas.

Serves in rotation as the after-hours on-site manager. Handles emergency situations related to students and facilities.

Directs the development and implementation of a comprehensive educational, social, cultural, and recreational program for residents. Works with resident assistants, staff, faculty, students, and outside professionals to provide programming designed to foster growth and development of students. Serves on various committees related to Housing and residence life functions, as well as advises the Community Council in his/her area. Serves as judicial hearing officer for some violations of housing and university policies.

Counsels and advises residents on issues such as roommate conflicts, homesickness, group living, values clarification, and crisis management. Works with residents individually and in groups to facilitate their personal and academic success.
