Resident Activities Assistant

Part Time | Day Shift working 8:30 am - 5 pm
Monday, Wednesday & Friday + Every 3rd Weekend

Full-time and part-time employees who work all scheduled shifts each pay period without any callouts are eligible to receive a WaWa gas card valued between $15-$25 per pay period, based on scheduled hours.

Pay: Starting at $16/hour

What is required as a Resident Activities Assistant?

  • High School diploma or its equivalent is desirable.
  • One year of activities experience or a minimum of one year of long term care experience required.

What will I do as a Resident Activities Assistant?

As a Resident Activities Assistant, you will help create a welcoming and engaging environment for residents by supporting meaningful activity programs that promote social, emotional, and physical well-being. You will work closely with the Activities Director, residents, families, and other departments to ensure programs are personalized, well-coordinated, and aligned with resident needs and regulatory standards.

  • Assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating daily activities and special events that enhance residents' quality of life.
  • Support the Activities Director in maintaining department policies, procedures, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Encourage resident participation by fostering a warm, positive, and engaging environment throughout the facility.
  • Collaborate with nursing, social services, therapy, and other departments to ensure activities support residents' individual needs and care plans.
  • Conduct resident interviews and visits to learn about personal interests, hobbies, and goals to help guide activity programming.
  • Coordinate outings, events, and transportation, ensuring residents have access to meaningful community and recreational experiences.
  • Document resident participation and responses to activities accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with quality improvement initiatives, surveys, and any corrective action plans related to activity services.
  • Participate in facility committees and team meetings as needed to support resident-centered care.
  • Help ensure continuity of services and assist with administrative responsibilities in the absence of the Activities Director.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Make daily rounds to ensure residents are receiving appropriate engagement opportunities and support.
