Resident Assistant (RA) for Residence Life

The Resident Assistant (RA) is a student member of the Department of Residence Life. They are responsible for working closely with staff and students in creating and maintaining an atmosphere that promotes student development and acceptance of diversity through group living in University residence halls and apartments. Resident Assistants are also Campus Security Authorities and Authorized Adults. The Resident Assistant will assume specific responsibility for a designated area within the residence hall(s) or apartment complexes. The position carries part-time, live-in responsibilities with appointments made on a yearly basis.
Each Resident Assistant works with a diverse group of students. The RA responsibilities incorporate student personnel services and residence hall operations, which are carried out under the supervision and with the help of the Resident Director or Assistant Resident Director. The RA is a role model and a catalyst for positive social interaction within the residence hall community. The RA will assist in the development of programs and create strong communities in their area.
$364 biweekly stipend, room waiver, and reduced meal plan.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have a cumulative and semester grade point average of 2.0 or above at the time of application and start date.

Applicants must complete all UAF employee Required Training (including Safety training, Title IX, Protection of minors, Campus Security Authority, and FERPA) within two weeks of their hire date.
At the time of hire, applicants must have applied for housing through the Department of Residence Life and paid any application fees.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
Must be a full-time undergraduate student at UAF (12 undergraduate credits).
All applicants will have their university student conduct record reviewed, and this review will be taken into consideration during the application/interview process.
Must be available to maintain a schedule that ensures student contact, particularly during evening hours and weekends. Must be available to work for the duration of the RA contract period. Contract dates are subject to change.
