Job Summary:
The Resident Assistant (RA) participates in the care of Atherton Place Personal Care Residents from a Resident Centered Approach. The RA assists Personal Care Residents with activities of daily living according to State regulations; assures a protective and watchful oversight; remains aware of residents needs, whereabouts, state of health and daily functioning; and interacts with residents and families. Activities of daily living include, but are not limited to, medication assistance/administration, bathing, dressing, and grooming. Willing to learn additional skills as needed.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Medication Assistance/Administration per State regulations
Maintain watchful oversight of residents.
Assist residents with ADLs as per resident need.
Maintain State Readiness
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma General or Other / Certificate Nursing
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. Cert Nurse Assistant Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
Additional License(s) and Certification(s): Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 2 years experience preferred in a similar setting with older adults. Preferred and Experience with medication assistance/administration Preferred Completion of nursing assistant program Required
Required Minimum Skills: Good customer service and communication skills required; demonstrates courteous and positive attitude; must be able to read and write; ability to relate well with teammates, healthcare professionals, residents, and families. Basic computer skills with Windows based environment for participation in training and resident documentation. Current skills in medication assistance/administration or willingness to learn.
