Resident Care Registered Nurse
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., No Holidays, with Occasional Saturday Coverage (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)
The Resident Care Office serves as the Primary Care Provider Office for the Independent Living population on our campus. Our Resident Care RN provides personalized nursing support to residents who live independently within our community. This unique nursing role focuses on building meaningful, long-term relationships while helping residents maintain their health, wellness, and independence.
Working closely with our Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, residents, and their families, the Resident Care RN serves as a key clinical resource and advocate. Responsibilities include assisting with physician clinics and resident appointments, completing nursing assessments and health screenings, obtaining vital signs, providing treatments such as wound care and injections, and supporting ongoing wellness initiatives.
A significant focus of this position is coordinating and managing resident care needs. The Resident Care RN conducts telephone triage, responds to resident health concerns, coordinates medications and treatment plans, and provides post-hospitalization and post-emergency department follow-up to support continuity of care and successful recovery. The RN must be able to recognize changes in a resident’s condition, exercise sound clinical judgment, and appropriately escalate concerns to providers or emergency services when necessary.
Success in this role requires exceptional organization, strong communication skills, reliability, and a genuine commitment to working with older adults. Because the Resident Care Office operates within a small, collaborative team, the ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and taking ownership of responsibilities while also contributing positively as a supportive team member.
Rather than managing a traditional bedside assignment, the Resident Care RN focuses on proactive health management, care coordination, resident education, and wellness support, helping older adults maintain their independence and quality of life in a community setting.
