Artheon is seeking experienced Resident Engineers to support current and future transportation and infrastructure construction management projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. This position will lead field construction oversight activities, coordinate with clients and contractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience serving as a Resident Engineer or Construction Manager on public infrastructure projects involving transportation, highways, bridges, transit, utilities, or green infrastructure improvements.

Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage construction management activities on complex infrastructure projects
  • Serve as the primary field representative between the client, contractors, design teams, and project stakeholders
  • Supervise Resident Engineer field office staff, inspectors, office engineers, and construction management personnel
  • Develop daily inspection assignments and oversee field inspection activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards
  • Coordinate construction activities with contractors, utility companies, public agencies, and project stakeholders
  • Monitor contractor performance, schedule, budget, and construction progress
  • Review contractor payment applications, schedules of values, change order requests, and supporting documentation
  • Evaluate construction issues, recommend resolutions, and negotiate change orders when required
  • Prepare daily reports, progress reports, meeting minutes, and project documentation
  • Lead progress meetings and coordinate project communication among all stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with agency standards, environmental requirements, and applicable safety regulations
  • Support constructability reviews and identify potential project risks throughout construction
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to ensure successful project delivery

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience managing construction projects as a Resident Engineer, Construction Manager, or similar leadership role
  • Experience overseeing transportation and infrastructure construction projects for public agencies such as NYC DDC, NYCDOT, MTA/NYCT, LIRR, NJ Transit, NJDOT, Port Authority, Amtrak, or similar agencies
  • Experience with roadway, bridge, utility, drainage, green infrastructure, transit, or other heavy civil construction projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification preferred; strong candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered
  • Strong knowledge of construction administration, contractor coordination, scheduling, cost control, change management, and quality assurance
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification preferred
  • Ability to work in a field environment throughout the New York metropolitan area
