Resident Pastoral EducationJob Description
As an integrated team member, the chaplain resident is responsible for providing spiritual, emotional, and religious support to patients, families, and staff. The chaplain resident will participate in all activities and group work of the Clinical Pastoral Education Program, complete all required readings and written work, provide spiritual care to patients on assigned units or by referral through Chaplaincy Services, and provide overnight, weekend, holiday, and regular on-call coverage in rotation with other residents. The chaplain must work as a professional, interact as part of the interdisciplinary care team, and chart in the patient’s computer and paper medical record as appropriate. The chaplain resident will collaborate and consult with the Spiritual Care Staff to fulfill clinical responsibilities. The chaplain resident will navigate the rigorous requirements and needs of the CPE residency with engagement, enduring commitment, including self care to fulfill development as as professional spiritual care provider.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree inTheology or related field preferred.
AND
Experience:
Experience working with people of multiple faiths and cultures strongly preferred.
