We are seeking a Resident Service Engineer- Onsite to support the successful operation of Hai Robotics automation systems and manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting production and system abnormalities, supporting product and process improvements, assisting with new product introductions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality, timely production, deployment, and delivery of products and projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse automation systems (AGV, ACR, AMR), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous improvement and customer success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaboration & Teamwork
•    Collaborate within a team environment and benefit from mentorship opportunities.
•    Assist mechanical/electrical designers to ensure the quality, timely production, and delivery of projects and products.

Technical Configuration & Systems Support
•    Assist in configuring firmware for various hardware components like robots, conveyors, servers, and scanners.
•    Offer ongoing support and maintenance to our robotics systems during and post-deployment to ensure seamless operations of HAI products.
•    Ability to perform basic DevOps operations.

Process Improvement & Production Support
•    Responsible for analyzing and handling production abnormalities of process products (providing temporary solutions), tracking the responsible department to provide long-term solutions, and following up on the implementation of long-term solutions.

SOP Development & Documentation
•    Responsible for preparing SOPs for products and production equipment.

Production Engineering & Manufacturing Support
•    Responsible for feasibility assessment, application, verification, and implementation of tooling fixtures required for production lines.

New Product Introduction (NPI)
•    Assist development engineers and new product introduction teams in small-batch trial production of new products, verification of new materials and new processes.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
•    Assist the quality department in formulating product inspection standards, analyzing and improving abnormalities.

Software Testing & Implementation
•    Collaborate in software testing during project implementation and support.
•    Test the fully integrated HAIQ-Warehouse Management System with customers or vendor sub-systems.

Site Inspections & Deployment Oversight
•    Conduct site inspections and evaluations, overseeing grid line marking and floor DM code adherence

Certification Requirements
•    You will be required to pass HAI's FAE certification


Qualifications
Education
•    Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.

Required Experience
•    At least 5 years of experience in one of the following:  Mechanical PE Engineer or Electrical Engineer in the robotics, AGV, or automotive industry.
•    Familiar with machining processes, material properties, machining accuracy, mechanical principles, tolerance and fit, etc.
•    Familiar with common robot communication protocols such as Ethernet, CAN, 485, etc.
•    Familiar with common wire gauges, connectors, terminals, with a foundation in PCB design and PLC programming.
•    Strong hands-on skills in assembly and wiring.
•    Ability to independently analyze machine abnormalities.
•    If the issue is electrical in nature, able to use common tools and instruments such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
•    Proficient in using relevant design software such as SolidWorks, CAD, EPLAN, etc.
•    Proficient in applying tools and methods such as Lean Production and Six Sigma.
•    Exposure or knowledge in supporting AGV, ACR, or AMR solution implementations
•    Knowledge of WMS/WES/WCS integration and PLC, but not required
•    Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
•    Preferred experience in warehouse automation, material handling equipment, and warehouse operations
•    Familiarity with Linux/UNIX, SQL, and scripting for task automation
•    Basic understanding of VPNs, firewalls, and routers
•    Strong communication skills with an analytical mindset
•    Basic understanding or knowledge of DevOps philosophies

Preferred
•    Proficiency in Chinese (advantageous but not mandatory)
•    Experience in project management or special project management at the production and manufacturing end is preferred.
•    English CET-6 or IELTS score of 6.5 or above, with English proficiency sufficient for daily work communication.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
•    Travel is 5 to 10% of your time for training or other support opportunities
