    PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Greet residents and building visitors and direct as needed to the appropriate staff.
    • Foster and promote positive relationships with residents; act as an approachable and engaging on-site presence while maintaining appropriate work boundaries.
    • Answer resident inquiries and provide information and updates to staff.
    • Assist in connecting with residents who have oversized packages delivered to the office.
    • Assist residents in completing forms such as maintenance requests, space agreements, and resident reports.
    • Maintain a log of events such as resident interactions, coordination for follow ups with other on-site staff, and other relevant events that occur in the community such as incident reporting. Document according to CCO standards, and follow up with property management and/or case management staff, and notify supervisor promptly.
    • Assist new residents with move in and orientation to our programming.
    • Support with planning/hosting/leading events such as groups and the weekly community meal, assist with any community programming occurring in the building, encouraging resident engagement and event planning.
    • Set up and contribute to staffing recurring weekly food pantry, maintaining cleaning schedule for the pantry space during the week.
    • Collaborate with the Skills Trainer and Community Engagement Specialist for event planning, distributing communications, and cleaning after community events.
    • Coordinate community resource information sessions for residents
    • Update lobby area with building forms, as well as information about resources and area attractions
    • Assist in compiling materials for welcome packets. 
    • Maintain a database and/or library of information and referral resources and provide information and referral services to residents.
    • Ensure that doors and windows are locked to secure the building at night (where common halls and entries exist).  
    • In the absence of the Community Manager, respond to emergency situations such as medical, police, fire emergencies, and take appropriate action including contacting emergency services (911), evacuating buildings, etc. if needed.  
    • Direct residents to appropriate resources for lockouts and emergency maintenance situations (snow and ice removal), per established lock out and on-call guidelines.
    • Light cleaning as needed to keep building orderly for our residents.
    • Participate in trainings and meetings as requested by Supervisor.
    • Adherence to Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Two years' work or volunteer experience preferred.
    • Certification (or ability to certify within 30 days of hire) and ability to maintain certification in CPR, 1st Aid, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens and Narcan Training.
    • Lived experience or experience working with low-income individuals.
    • Ability to effectively work with standard office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint.
    • Demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.
    • Commitment to Catholic Charities mission to work in partnership with vulnerable populations to achieve lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.
    • Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.  High attention to detail required.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
    • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work well in team setting, as well as independently; be flexible and adapt well to different dynamics in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Demonstrated competency working with people from diverse cultures. Ability to assess and treat clients in a culturally competent manner.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which could include some evenings and weekends.
    • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
    • Travel between sites in Portland required.  Must have driver’s license, access to vehicle and ability to obtain automobile insurance at levels required by agency.

    BACKGROUND AND MVR SCREENING:
