About the Role:
The Resident Assistant (RA) provides hands-on care, support, and teaching to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in a licensed 8-bed Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). This entry-level role also offers the opportunity to gain three months of required experience and earn CRMA certification while learning the specialized caregiving methods used in the field of intellectual disabilities.
What You'll Do:
Support residents in daily living activities (bathing, grooming, dressing, meals, mobility, etc.)
Promote independence, self-advocacy, and personal choice
Follow individualized care and behavioral support plans
Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment
Observe and report health or behavioral changes
Participate in recreational and community activities
Uphold confidentiality, professional communication, and teamwork standards
Complete required trainings and certifications within two years
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent required
DSP/CDS certification (or willingness to obtain)
CPR/First Aid certified (training provided if needed)
Valid Maine driver's license or driver's license in the United States for at least 1 year with clean driving record
