Residential Aide

A housing services organization is seeking a Residential Aide in Manhattan, New York to support a transitional housing setting and help maintain a safe, stable environment for residents and visitors. This role involves monitoring the premises, documenting activity, and assisting with daily operations in a client-facing residential program.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day shift
• Schedule: Monday through Friday
• Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with 2 days from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Setting: Transitional housing

Responsibilities:

• Monitor the area and provide support and resources to residents and visitors
• Maintain a welcoming, safe, and stable environment throughout the site
• Complete hourly rounds inside and outside the facility to support safety and security
• Document incidents, crisis interventions, attendance, shift activity, visitors, and progress notes
• Greet individuals entering the site, screen residents, visitors, and packages, and direct people as needed

Qualifications:

• 2 years of related experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED

Desired Skills:

• Associate's degree
• Experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health concerns, or substance use issues
• CPR and First Aid certifications
• NARCAN and crisis prevention experience
• Familiarity with harm reduction principles
• Experience with de-escalation and incident response
