About the Role:
Serenity Counseling Services of Virginia is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Residential Aide to join our team in Richmond, VA. Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and support residents in a residential treatment or behavioral health setting to ensure safety and well-being
  • Assist residents with daily living activities and maintain a structured, therapeutic environment
  • Document resident behavior, incidents, and progress accurately in accordance with facility protocols
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed
  • Enforce house rules and program guidelines while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Collaborate with counselors, case managers, and clinical staff to support individualized treatment plans
  • Facilitate or assist with group activities, life skills programming, and community meetings
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; degree in human services, psychology, or related field preferred
  • Prior experience in residential care, behavioral health, substance abuse treatment, or social services preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-centered approach
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress or crisis situations
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening
  • Reliable, empathetic, and committed to trauma-informed care principles
