    Job Description

    JOB OVERVIEW:

    Receive a daily report and logbook from staff on the previous shift. Maintain a daily log of all activities occurring during the shift. Provide a verbal report to incoming staff.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Answer calls from the Registered Nurse when needed.
    • Provide adjunct care for participants, including ice packs and heat packs.
    • Check vital signs, weight, and record information when required by the Registered Nurse.
    • Log new residents' belongings as well as any items received for residents during business hours.
    • Conduct a random hourly bedroom check daily.
    • Participate in the program evaluation process as necessary, including data collection.
    • Contact the on-call staff person, Facility Manager, or Program Director (in cases of emergency) for instructions on weekends and weeknights.

    SKILLS:

    • Thorough knowledge of alcoholism and other addictions
    • Knowledge of the special needs of women struggling with addiction
    • Ability to set consistent, fair limits when appropriate while maintaining a sensitive and supportive attitude in relation to residents
    • Ability to act as a role model for the residents
    • High tolerance for working under pressure and handling critical situations

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Valid driver's license
