    RESIDENTIAL CARE COORDINATOR

    This job is a part-time, as needed position. The applicant must be willing to work weekends. We need back-up for staff members who are on vacations and other scheduling needs. 

    Job Summary:

    The Residential Care Coordinator will care for client’s conditions or disabilities, following the instructions of physicians and other health practitioners. The Residential Care Coordinator will monitor patients’ physical and emotional well-being and report to medical staff and may participate in rehabilitation and treatment programs, help with personal hygiene and recovery path, and observe medication use.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • None.

    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Provide direct care to clients one-on-one or group therapy sessions to implement skill acquisition.
    • Observe, collect, and record data on client activity, attendance, and progress.
    • Assist in implementing behavior modification techniques.
    • Collaborates with or assists doctors, psychologists, and rehabilitation therapists in working with clients treatment.
    • Encourages patients to develop work skills and to participate in social, recreational, and other therapeutic activities that enhance interpersonal skills and develop social relationships.
    • Develops or teaches strategies to promote client wellness and belonging.
    • Ensure clients follow the continuous daily schedule and are where they need to be and on time.
    • Routine checks of group areas and bedrooms for cleanliness and directly addresses the issue.
    • Maintains order and supply of all cleaning supplies/general supplies and reports supply needs accordingly.
    • Prepared to intervene with violent, potentially violent, and suicidal clients by verbal and physical means.
    • All other duties assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities: 
    • Basic knowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology.
    • Excellent ability to communicate effectively and in a manner that de-escalates tense situations.

    Education and Experience:
    • H.S. Diploma or G.E.D required.
    • Postsecondary certificate or Associate’s degree in psychiatric or mental health technology with courses in psychology preferred.

    Physical Requirements: 
    • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and moving.
    • May require the ability to physically restrain individuals.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
