RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

You May Not Be Looking for Another Job—But This Opportunity May Be Worth Checking into.

The best people are not always actively searching for a new position. They are typically already working, carrying responsibility, solving problems, and becoming the person others depend on.

But sometimes the right opportunity is worth a conversation.

Hurst Carpentry Co. is growing and is now currently seeking an exceptional Construction Manager to become a key leader within our growing organization.

This is not simply another project-management position, and we are not looking to fill it with just another résumé. We are looking for the right person—an impact player whose character, leadership, judgment, work ethic, and construction knowledge make others want to follow them.

Experience is important. Character is essential.

You may already have a good job. You may be respected where you are and not actively considering a change. We understand that.

We are not asking the right person to leave something established for just another construction job. We are offering the opportunity to step into a role with real responsibility, influence, growth potential, and the ability to help shape the future of an organization.

This position is for someone who wants to do more than manage schedules and complete projects. It is for someone who wants to strengthen a team, improve an operation, raise the standard, and build something meaningful.

Who We Are Looking For-

The right candidate:
  • Takes full ownership without a need of making excuses.
  • Leads through personal example rather than any title alone.
  • Communicates directly, professionally, and respectfully.
  • Remains dependable when situations become difficult.
  • Protects quality even when shortcuts would be easier.
  • Makes firm decisions without allowing ego to interfere.
  • Brings solutions instead of simply identifying problems.
  • Is confident enough to lead and humble enough to keep learning.
  • Wants to improve the people and organization around them.
  • We would rather hire a person of exceptional character with room to grow than someone with an impressive résumé who does not represent our values.

Skills can be strengthened. Systems can be taught. Integrity, accountability, humility, and personal drive must already be present.

     THE ROLE:
Primary Responsibilities
  • Plan and oversee construction projects from preconstruction through final completion.
  • Coordinate employees, field leaders, subcontractors, vendors, materials, inspections, and project schedules.
  • Establish clear expectations and maintain consistent communication throughout each project.
  • Review plans, scopes, selections, budgets, and project requirements before work begins.
  • Visit jobsites regularly and remain aware of quality, progress, manpower, and upcoming needs.
  • Identify potential problems early and develop practical solutions before they cause delays.
  • Maintain accountability among team members while treating people fairly and professionally.
  • Protect project quality, efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain organized project records, updates, change orders, schedules, and documentation.
  • Lead project closeouts, inspections, punch lists, and final customer turnover.
  • Help develop field leaders and strengthen the overall performance of the team.
  • Represent the company and its standards professionally in every interaction.
The position carries real authority and real responsibility. We are looking for someone who understands that leadership is not about having power over others—it is about accepting responsibility for the outcome.

Experience We Value-
Ideal candidates may have backgrounds as a:

  • Construction Project Manager
  • Residential Superintendent
  • General Manager
  • Construction Operations Manager
  • Senior Jobsite Leader
  • Lead Carpenter or Working Foreman
  • Experienced Contractor or Business Owner
  • Proven field professional ready to move into broader leadership
Residential construction or remodeling management experience is preferred, but we are open to an exceptional field leader whose character, construction knowledge, communication, and leadership ability outweigh a perfect résumé.

A construction-related degree or project-management certification is welcomed but not required for the right person.

What This Opportunity Can Become-
For the right individual, this can become much more than another job title.

It is an opportunity to:
  • Hold a respected leadership position within a growing company.
  • Help improve systems, project execution, and team performance.
  • Influence how projects and people are managed.
  • Earn greater authority through dependable results.
  • Build a meaningful long-term position within the organization.
  • Work with a company that values craftsmanship, accountability, character, and continuous improvement.
  • Become a cornerstone of what we are building for the future.
At Hurst Carpentry Co. leadership is a position of genuine integrity. It must be earned, protected, and proven through daily actions.

With greater authority comes greater responsibility.

The person selected for this role must possess the fortitude to make difficult decisions, the humility to accept accountability, and the consistency to lead whether circumstances are easy or challenging.
