Residential Construction Superintendent

Ramsey Contracting, LLC is a full-service general contracting company serving the greater Austin area for over 10 years. We're looking for a Construction Superintendent to oversee the physical construction of our organization's properties. You will manage a team of contractors and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. As Construction Superintendent, you should be experienced in handling people and know how to juggle many tasks at once. Since you will be in charge of overseeing multiple sites, you should have excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to make sound decisions, have the initiative to define goals, make plans and solve problems. The ultimate goal is to deliver buildings that meet quality standards for our organization.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervise and direct all construction and maintenance workers engaged in maintenance and repair projects.
• Assist in planning, scheduling, organizing and coordinating work assignments.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates on major construction projects.
• Manage, monitor and coordinate all job sites to ensure safety and quality standards.
• Hire competent personnel as required.
• Provide training and direction to all personnel on safety procedures, OSHA regulations and OSHA related training.
• Conduct site inspections as required.
• Supervise the contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors to ensure adherence to policies, labor agreements and legal compliance.
• Provide photo documentation of construction progress and inspection reports for use in presentation to general contractor.
• Consult with clients and communicate customer needs
• Act as a mediator between clients and upper management
• Communicate with subcontractors and inhouse workers
• Plan and execute schedules with subcontractors and inhouse workers
• Maintain daily log of progress
• Coordinate all construction project activities and services across construction team

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience in residential/commercial construction
• 2+ years experience as a construction superintendent or team lead
• Ability to provide solutions when problems arise
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate construction documents with precision
• Hardworking attitude
• Reliable transportation and fundamental set construction tools preferred
• Basic knowledge of each trade and ability to self-perform minor construction tasks if needed
