Job Overview Residential Counselor (Behavioral Health)
Compensation: $24/hour
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Night Shift (On-site)
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Residential Counselor (Behavioral Health) in Philadelphia, PA for our client, supporting overnight behavioral health and residential services within a community-based environment. This role focuses on monitoring resident activity, conducting routine facility rounds, documenting observations, and maintaining a safe and structured setting for individuals receiving behavioral health and substance abuse support services. The position is ideal for candidates with experience supporting behavioral health or substance abuse populations in residential or community-based settings.
Responsibilities as the Residential Counselor (Behavioral Health):
- Resident Monitoring: Conduct routine overnight rounds and monitor resident activity throughout the facility.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate notes and participant updates within the electronic documentation system.
- Behavioral Support: Provide guidance, support, and supervision to residents within a structured residential environment.
- Safety Oversight: Help maintain a safe, secure, and organized facility while following established program procedures.
- Participant Engagement: Support residents in maintaining daily structure and appropriate community living behaviors.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate resident concerns, incidents, and updates with supervisors and program staff as needed.
Qualifications for the Residential Counselor (Behavioral Health):
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: 12 years of experience working with behavioral health, mental health, substance abuse, or residential populations is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with residential behavioral health or substance abuse support environments is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer and electronic documentation skills are required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong communication skills, reliability, observational abilities, professionalism, and the ability to work independently during overnight shifts are required.
