+ Safely operate a residential collection vehicle on assigned routes.
+ Service residential customers in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner.
+ Complete daily route assignments and follow dispatcher instructions.
+ Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking fluids, tires, and safety equipment.
+ Operate hydraulic controls to safely collect and transport residential waste.
+ Maintain a strong focus on safety while working around traffic, pedestrians, and residential neighborhoods.
+ Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
+ Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Typical Schedule
+ Monday through Friday
+ Occasional Saturdays as needed
+ 50-60 hour work week
+ Early morning start times
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
+ Physically demanding position requiring frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds or more.
+ Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
+ Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, noise, dust, and other environmental conditions common to the waste industry.
+ Must be able to safely enter and exit the vehicle multiple times throughout the day.
Minimum Requirements
+ Valid Class A or Class B CDL with Air Brake Endorsement.
+ Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience.
+ Waste industry experience preferred but not required.
+ Ability to complete vehicle inspections and identify basic mechanical concerns.
+ Strong safety record and customer service skills.
