As a Residential Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll provide hands-on care and support to individuals in a residential setting, helping them develop life skills, achieve personal goals, and actively participate in their communities.
Provide direct care and support based on Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility
Teach independent living skills and encourage personal growth
Administer medications and prepare meals
Transport individuals to appointments and community activities
Complete daily documentation and progress notes
Implement behavior support strategies and assist during crisis situations when needed
Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive home environment
Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and team members
Perform other duties as assigned
High school diploma or GED
Experience supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, or behavioral disabilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Valid Virginia driver's license with a clean driving record
Reliable transportation and proof of insurance
Ability to pass required background and registry checks
Preferred
Medication Administration Certification
CPR and First Aid Certification
TOVA or other behavior management training
Experience writing therapeutic documentation
