Description

Reporting to the Preconstruction Manager, the Residential Estimator will be responsible for preparing competitive and accurate proposals for residential concrete construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to support the procurement of new work.

  • Review and analyse project drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documentation for residential construction projects.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs for concrete, reinforcement, formwork, voids, and associated materials using estimating software.
  • Develop comprehensive project estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, overheads, and profit considerations.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure alignment with scope and project requirements.
  • Prepare professional bid submissions, including clarifications, exclusions, assumptions, and qualifications.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, architects, and project teams to ensure accurate pricing and scope definition.
  • Maintain bid tracking systems, support bid reviews, and contribute to project handovers as required.

Profile

For the Residential Estimator we are seeking:
  • 3+ years of estimating experience within residential construction, concrete, foundations, or related sectors.
  • Degree in Construction Management preferred but not essential.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and understand construction plans, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Experience performing quantity take-offs and developing detailed cost estimates.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience working directly with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

Job Offer
