Phoenix College (PC) is seeking a faculty member to teach primarily in the Public Safety Administration (PSA) bachelors program and support instruction in Administration of Justice Studies (AJS). Responsibilities include advising and assessing students in in-person, hybrid, and online formats, in alignment with Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) and college policies.
The faculty member will also serve as a liaison with criminal justice agencies, public safety organizations, and law enforcement partners, as directed by the Department Chair and Program Directors. Additional responsibilities include developing and updating curriculum for PSA and AJS courses and maintaining current knowledge of industry trends to support high-quality instruction.
This position in the Public Safety and Law Department is anticipated to begin in Fall 2026.
Essential Functions
- Deliver instruction to students with varied backgrounds and commitments in classroom and online settings using a range of instructional strategies in PSA and AJS courses.
- Design syllabi, curriculum, and instructional materials that apply innovative, learning-centered practices to support student engagement, retention, and achievement.
- Integrate instructional technology and alternative delivery methods, including learning communities, summer courses, hybrid, and online formats.Provide academic support to students in person and virtually via office hours.
- Fulfill required departmental office hours and accountability expectations. Participate in college and departmental assessment processes, including continuous evaluation and improvement of teaching and learning.
- Maintain current subject-matter expertise through ongoing professional development and contribute to the colleges academic mission through active participation in departmental, campus, and district committees, meetings, and initiatives.
