The Opportunity

As our HVAC Curriculum Architect & Field Coach, you’ll build, deliver, and elevate technical training that uplifts service, maintenance, and installation teams. You’ll be the mentor technicians turn to, the subject matter expert leaders consult, and the coach who turns potential into performance.

How You’ll Lead Training

• Design end-to-end learning programs for techs at every level—apprentice to senior specialist.
• Create curricula, hands-on labs, assessments, and clear certification pathways.
• Facilitate classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training; support onboarding for new hires.
• Coach technicians, leads, and supervisors to build confidence and consistency.
• Keep content current with the latest systems, tools, technologies, and best practices.

Where Your Technical Mastery Shines

Deliver advanced instruction across core residential disciplines, including:

• Gas furnaces; heat pumps; air conditioners; ductless systems
• Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) solutions
• Hydronic and boiler systems (where applicable)
• Electrical troubleshooting and refrigeration diagnostics
• Combustion analysis, airflow measurement, and static pressure testing
• Adoption of emerging technologies such as newer refrigerants and next-gen heat pump platforms

Assessment, Quality, and Impact

• Evaluate skills through ride‑alongs, observation, written tests, and practical assessments.
• Identify gaps and build individualized development plans and progression pathways.
• Track outcomes, iterate curricula, and continuously improve training effectiveness.
• Partner with operational leaders to cut callbacks, sharpen diagnostics, and raise productivity.

Safety and Compliance

• Champion a strong safety culture across classrooms, labs, and field settings.
• Ensure alignment with company policies, OSHA requirements, EPA regulations, and industry standards.
• Deliver safety training and reinforce safe work practices in all environments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with Service Managers, General Managers, Regional Leaders, and field teams to pinpoint training needs.
• Coordinate manufacturer-led courses and certification programs.
• Maintain accurate records of training, certifications, and skills assessments.

Required Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of hands-on residential HVAC experience.
• Extensive background with gas furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, hydronic/boiler systems (where applicable), ductless systems, IAQ, electrical troubleshooting, refrigeration diagnostics, combustion analysis, and airflow/static pressure testing.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification.
• Expert-level diagnostics and troubleshooting skills across electrical, refrigeration, airflow performance, and combustion fundamentals.
• Demonstrated success mentoring, coaching, or training HVAC technicians.
• Excellent communication (verbal/written/presentation), organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong dedication to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• NATE Certification and/or HVAC manufacturer certifications.
• 10+ years in the HVAC industry.
• Experience as an instructor, trainer, or technical educator.
• Proven ability to design and implement technical curricula.
• Experience conducting skills assessments and mapping technician progression.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30.
• Familiarity with ServiceTitan or similar field service management software.
• Background supporting residential service, maintenance, replacement, and installation operations.
• History training teams on heat pump technology and newer refrigerant platforms.
• Experience developing structured, multi-level technical career paths.

Physical Requirements

• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb while working in lab and field environments.
• Travel to operating locations for training, coaching, and assessments.
• Operate tools, test equipment, and technology commonly used in HVAC.
