Role overview

As a Residential HVAC Field Diagnostics Specialist, you’ll service, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems—primarily in homes, with occasional light commercial work. You’ll perform routine and emergency repairs, conduct inspections and adjustments, keep detailed service records, and maintain a safe, tidy workspace while adhering to industry standards. Above all, you’ll deliver clear, friendly communication that builds trust with every customer.

What you’ll do

  • Clean, tune, and repair HVAC components including air handlers, ductwork, vents, and condensate drains.
  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues on residential HVAC systems to restore reliability and efficiency.
  • Present expert solutions and recommendations that align with customer needs and safety best practices.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as assigned.

What makes you a great fit

  • 2–5+ years of HVAC experience, ideally focused on residential service.
  • EPA certification (required).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills for complex issues.
  • Positive attitude and unwavering commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Customer-first mindset with professional communication across all levels.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and innovative team player.

Physical demands

  • Regularly lift 50 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Climb ladders; access attics and crawlspaces; work in tight areas; drive between jobs; push, carry, pull; use hand tools; and perform fine-detail tasks.
  • Ability to drive.
  • Work indoors and outdoors, including attics and crawlspaces.
  • Stand, walk, sit; talk and hear in person and by phone.
  • Use hands to handle/feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
  • Routine exposure to heat, cold, and adverse weather (wind, rain, ice, snow).
