    About the Role

    Picture your day as a Residential HVAC Field Service Specialist. You review your schedule from the Service Supervisor and Operations team, stock your vehicle with the right parts, and head out to deliver exceptional service on residential heating and cooling systems. From diagnosing performance issues to completing start-ups and documenting results, you keep families comfortable and safe—while keeping customers informed every step of the way.

    What You'll Do

    • Diagnose, maintain, and repair residential heating and air conditioning equipment to proper operating standards.
    • Inspect ductwork and ensure company tools/materials remain in safe, serviceable condition.
    • Identify, wire, commission, and start up complete residential systems; perform start-up testing and record results.
    • Troubleshoot system issues, recommend solutions, and carry out repairs to restore optimal function.
    • Conduct full-system inspections and promptly communicate outstanding concerns to dispatch and the customer.
    • Clearly explain services performed and repair recommendations to both customers and dispatch.
    • Coordinate daily scheduling directly with the office to optimize your route and appointments.
    • Order necessary parts in advance of appointments and arrive prepared for each call.
    • Transport parts, materials, and tools to job sites and maintain accurate accountability for assigned items.
    • Complete digital or paper service documentation accurately and on time.
    • Debrief each service call with dispatch and the customer, supported by proper documentation.
    • Leave every work area clean and orderly upon completion.
    • Keep your company vehicle clean, organized, and well-maintained—inside and out.
    • Uphold company performance standards and code of ethics; maintain a courteous, professional demeanor.
    • Use protective floor covers on footwear while working in customer homes.
    • Follow all safety policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • 1+ year of HVAC service experience.
    • EPA Certification.
    • Soldering/brazing proficiency.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively in English.
    • Basic computer literacy; able to use a computer, laptop, or tablet.
    • Comfort with internet navigation and email tools such as Microsoft Outlook.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Ability to work overtime with little notice; occasional weekends.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • HVAC trade school certification.
    • 1–2 years of experience in construction, HVAC, or related fields.

    Working Conditions

    • Primarily at occupied residential homes and/or construction sites; minimal office time.
    • Travel by vehicle to and from work locations.
    • Exposure to construction environments: equipment, heights, confined spaces, noise, dust, odors, and hazardous materials.
    • Indoor and outdoor work in all weather (heat, rain, cold, wind) with appropriate PPE.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to drive and operate a motorized passenger vehicle or forklift.
    • Lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently.
    • Regular climbing, bending, crawling, kneeling, and crouching.
    • Comfort working at heights; climb ladders and stairs; occasional work from platforms/scaffolding using required fall protection.
    • Wear required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, masks/respirators, reflective vests, gloves, and safety-toe construction-grade boots.
    • Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
    • Hear and distinguish speech and other sounds for safe equipment and phone operation.
    • With natural or corrected vision, maintain close, distance, and peripheral vision with normal depth perception.
    • Communicate clearly to convey information verbally.
    • Enter data on handheld devices or computers using a standard keyboard or 10-key keypad.
    • Use arms and hands to reach overhead and to grasp, lift, turn, push, and pull tools and materials.
