A Day in the Life
You start the day reviewing your schedule and scope on a company iPad, meet briefly with dispatch and your supervisor, then head to the customer’s home. You’ll remove or retrofit existing equipment, set and level new components, run line sets and wiring to spec, and tie into ductwork and controls. You’ll work safely whether you’re in an attic, crawlspace, or on a ladder, and you’ll keep the site clean throughout.
Once installed, you’ll commission the system: verify airflow, charge, venting, and controls; fine‑tune performance to meet code and manufacturer specifications; and walk the homeowner through operation and maintenance. You’ll close out with accurate documentation on your iPad, update the team, and prep for tomorrow.
What You’ll Do
- Install, replace, and configure residential HVAC systems per plans, manufacturer specs, and code
- Commission/start up equipment to meet safety, quality, and performance standards
- Deliver professional, customer‑facing service throughout each install
- Work in varied conditions, including confined or elevated spaces
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on time
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Collaborate with teammates, dispatch, and supervisors; attend meetings; follow company policies and safety protocols
What You Bring
- RI or MA Journeyman License (required)
- EPA Certification (standard expectation for this role)
- Proven residential HVAC installation experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organization
- Willingness to take on on‑call rotations and weekend work as needed
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay: $35 – $55
- $5,000 Sign‑On Bonus (3‑part payout structure for licensed technicians)
