RESIDENTIAL IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN

Wentzville, MO

$22.00 – $26.00+ per hour DOE | Full-Time | Year-Round

We are looking for a motivated, dependable Irrigation Technician to join our growing team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, learning a skilled trade, and taking pride in their work.

This is a YEAR-ROUND position with consistent work and 40–50 hours per week. You won't have to worry about being laid off or having your hours disappear during the slower months.

Prior irrigation or landscaping experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person!

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an Irrigation Technician, you will work directly with residential and commercial customers to keep their irrigation systems operating properly and efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform seasonal irrigation system start-ups and winterizations
• Service, troubleshoot, repair, and replace irrigation system components
• Diagnose irrigation system issues and determine appropriate repairs
• Program and adjust irrigation controllers for optimal system performance
• Perform irrigation maintenance and system inspections
• Install or replace irrigation components as needed
• Perform backflow-related work when qualified — backflow experience is a strong plus
• Use an iPad and ServiceTitan-based software to review daily schedules, job orders, and customer information
• Complete job documentation accurately and efficiently
• Communicate professionally with customers and provide excellent customer service
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and technology
• Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines
• Work efficiently and independently while also contributing to a strong team environment
• Perform other duties related to irrigation service and maintenance as needed

WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE

• 7:00 AM: Start the day at the Wentzville shop
• Pick up your company-provided service van and iPad
• Review your schedule and job orders
• Travel to residential and commercial customer locations
• Complete scheduled irrigation service and repair work
• Typically finish around 4:00–4:30 PM, although the day may run longer when needed to complete scheduled work
• Return the company van and iPad to the shop at the end of the day

In certain situations, the company may allow a technician to take the van home, depending on the circumstances.

Technicians can generally expect 40–50 hours per week, and additional hours may be available for those who want them.

SCHEDULE & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Full-time, year-round position
• Typically Monday–Friday
• Approximately 40–50 hours per week
• Most weekends are off
• Occasional weekend work may be necessary during peak seasonal periods when the team is catching up
• This is not a traditional on-call position
• The manager generally handles emergency/on-call calls, but technicians may occasionally be asked to assist when needed
• Additional hours are often available for technicians who want to volunteer
• Outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, mechanically inclined, and willing to learn.

Required:

• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Commitment to working safely
• Professional attitude and good communication skills
• Valid driver's license/valid identification
• Ability to operate a company vehicle responsibly
• Willingness to learn irrigation systems, equipment, and technology

Preferred, But Not Required:

• Irrigation experience
• Landscaping experience
• Plumbing experience
• Electrical or low-voltage experience
• Mechanical troubleshooting experience
• Backflow experience/certification
• Experience using ServiceTitan or similar field-service software

Don't have irrigation experience? That's okay! On-the-job training is provided for the right candidate.

IMPORTANT LOCATION REQUIREMENT

Because technicians begin and end their day at the Wentzville shop, candidates should ideally live within approximately 45 minutes of the office.
