Summary:

As a Front Desk Employee within Residential Life, individuals in this role will play a key part in fostering a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment within the residence halls. This position involves serving as the first point of contact for residents and guests, supporting the day-to-day operations of Residential Life. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, dependability, and a commitment to excellent customer service. Specific tasks include welcoming and assisting students, monitoring security cameras, managing community resources (e.g., check-in/out of equipment), and handling administrative duties. Students will gain valuable experience in customer service, safety and security monitoring, problem-solving, and teamwork while contributing to the overall safety, efficiency, and sense of community within Residential Life.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assisting students, residents, and guests while providing excellent customer service.

  • Maintaining a safe and inviting front desk environment by monitoring activity and reporting concerns to Residential Life staff

  • Managing the check-in and check-out of community resources (e.g., sports equipment, board games, cleaning supplies)

  • Monitoring residential hall security cameras and responding appropriately to issues

  • Addressing resident questions and concerns with professionalism, discretion, and care

  • Assisting Residential Life staff with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned
