Change Lives Every Day.Mooseheart Child City & School is seeking an experienced Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) to serve as the Residential Living Supervisor for our Horizons Program, a specialized residential program supporting youth with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD/I-DD).This leadership role is ideal for a compassionate professional with experience in residential child care, developmental disability services, behavioral health, or human services who is passionate about creating safe, structured, and nurturing environments where youth can thrive.As the Residential Living Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of one or more residential homes, supervise Child Care Supervisors and Direct Care staff, provide case management oversight, and ensure services are delivered in accordance with person-centered planning, trauma-informed care, Illinois DCFS regulations, and agency standards.This is a required live-on-campus position. To support your success, Mooseheart provides private on-campus housing as part of your employment, allowing you to remain connected to the residential community while maintaining your own private living space.Why Join Mooseheart?Employer-provided private campus housingLead a dedicated team serving youth with Intellectual and Developmental DisabilitiesMake a lasting impact in a mission-driven residential communityCollaborative multidisciplinary team including education, clinical, nursing, and residential professionalsComprehensive benefits packageProfessional development and leadership growth opportunitiesPosition SummaryUnder the direction of the Director of Residential Living, the Residential Living Supervisor provides leadership, operational oversight, case management supervision, and staff development within Mooseheart's Horizons residential program.This position ensures high-quality residential services through effective supervision, regulatory compliance, interdisciplinary collaboration, and person-centered supports that promote each youth's safety, independence, emotional well-being, and overall development.Essential ResponsibilitiesResidential Program LeadershipOversee the daily operation of assigned residential homes serving youth with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).Ensure a safe, structured, therapeutic, and nurturing living environment.Promote person-centered planning and trauma-informed care throughout residential services.Ensure compliance with Illinois DCFS regulations, agency policies, and quality standards.Staff Leadership & SupervisionSupervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate Direct Care Staff.Support the professional development and accountability of residential staff.Maintain staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and continuity of care.Foster teamwork, communication, and positive workplace culture.Case Management & Service CoordinationProvide comprehensive case management oversight using person-centered planning principles.Coordinate interdisciplinary meetings with internal teams and community providers.Monitor service effectiveness and recommend program improvements.Maintain accurate documentation regarding youth progress, services, and regulatory requirements.Residential OperationsParticipate in an on-call rotation to provide leadership during emergencies and ensure program continuity.Monitor youth engagement, therapeutic interventions, medication oversight, and daily programming.Assist Child Care Supervisors as needed to maintain consistent operations and youth safety.Maintain strict confidentiality regarding youth, staff, and agency information.Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Residential Living or Executive Director of Mooseheart Operations.Required QualificationsCurrent Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) certification (required)Master's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, Special Education, or a related fieldMinimum one year of experience working in child welfare, developmental disabilities, behavioral health, or human servicesMinimum two years of leadership or professional experience within a residential treatment, residential child care, or group home settingMinimum age of 25 yearsKnowledge of:Person-Centered PlanningTrauma-Informed CareIntellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)Residential program operationsIllinois DCFS licensing requirementsStrong leadership, organizational, communication, and documentation skillsAbility to analyze complex situations, solve problems, and make sound decisionsAbility to meet all Illinois licensing, background check, and regulatory requirementsPreferred QualificationsExperience working with:Youth with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)Autism Spectrum DisorderBehavioral HealthResidential Treatment ProgramsGroup Home LeadershipPositive Behavior SupportsCrisis InterventionChild Welfare ServicesMultidisciplinary TeamsLive-On Campus RequirementThis position is an essential live-on-campus leadership role.Residential Living Supervisors are required to reside on the Mooseheart campus to support the residential program, provide leadership presence, and participate in an on-call rotation.To support this requirement, private employer-provided housing is included as part of the position, allowing supervisors to enjoy their own private residence while remaining closely connected to the children and staff they serve.The Ideal CandidateWe're looking for someone who:Is a passionate advocate for youth with Intellectual and Developmental DisabilitiesLeads with empathy, integrity, and accountabilityBuilds strong, collaborative teamsThrives in a mission-driven residential environmentExcels at balancing clinical oversight with day-to-day operational leadershipCreates safe, supportive, and structured environments where youth can succeed
