This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional, retired superintendent, building inspector, general contractor, or construction consultant looking for a flexible, part-time role where their expertise will have a direct impact on project quality.
Position Summary
As a Construction Inspector, you will perform quality inspections on residential remodeling projects, identify workmanship concerns, verify compliance with construction standards, and provide recommendations that help ensure projects are completed correctly the first time.
Rather than supervising construction crews, you will serve as an independent quality resource by evaluating completed work and helping project teams maintain exceptional construction standards.
What You'll Do
- Conduct inspections of residential remodeling and renovation projects
- Evaluate workmanship, craftsmanship, and overall project quality
- Verify work complies with project plans, specifications, and applicable building codes
- Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
- Document inspection findings with detailed reports and photographs
- Perform quality assurance inspections throughout various phases of construction
- Assist in identifying construction issues before they become costly problems
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams
- Provide objective recommendations that improve project quality and consistency
- Maintain organized inspection records and documentation
- Represent Girl Flip Construction professionally while interacting with homeowners
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 7 years of residential construction, remodeling, building inspection, or general contracting experience
- Extensive knowledge of residential construction methods and building practices
- Strong understanding of residential building codes
- Ability to identify construction defects and quality concerns
- Experience reading construction plans and specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and digital documentation tools
- Proficiency in relevant computer systems and software applications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Residential Building Inspector
- Experience as a Superintendent or Construction Manager
- Remodeling or renovation experience
- General Contractor experience
- ICC certifications or other inspection credentials (preferred but not required)
- Experience with high-end residential construction
