Position Overview

The Facility Nurse provides essential medical and health services to children served at The Centers H.O.P.E. Campus, delivering trauma-informed, compassionate care to multi-system youth navigating complex behavioral health, developmental disability, juvenile justice, and child welfare challenges.

Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Three (3) 12-hour shifts

Four (4) 12-hour shifts

Every other weekend and every other holiday required

New Shift Premium for 7pm-7am Shift: $4.00 per hour + hourly wage.

Qualifications

Required Education & Licensure

Associate degree in nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio

Required Experience

Minimum two (2) years of experience in pediatric and/or public health nursingOR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care

Conduct comprehensive physical health assessmentsProvide well-child care servicesAdminister first aid and emergency interventionsRespond to and implement physician's ordersDispense, administer, and supervise medication managementAssist residents with self-administration of medicationsMonitor for medication side effects and adverse reactionsDeliver medical interventions as clinically indicated

Health Education & Training

Provide medication education to clients and families/caregiversDeliver health education instruction to residentsTrain agency staff on universal precautions and communicable disease protocolsConduct staff training on medication dispensing proceduresServe as resource person on pediatric health issues

Documentation & Coordination

Maintain accurate, confidential medical and dental records in compliance with HIPAADocument immunizations, health findings, and relevant health dataSchedule medical and dental appointmentsTransport children to appointments as neededObtain medication approvals and order medical supplies as directed

Collaboration

Participate in clinical and treatment team meetings

Coordinate medical services with interdisciplinary treatment providers

Collaborate with community partners and child welfare systems

Why should a nurse consider working at HOPE? To assist with the development of our future generations. It is a pivotal time to help change the direction that our youth are going. The work can be rewarding, fulfilling, and at times a challenge. My challenging days are manageable and few and far in-between.

What makes our nursing environment unique? HOPE Campus has a small nursing department with no IV medication administration and simple wound care. Nurses are not actively involved in therapeutic holds. If you want to have a positive impact on our current and future generation, then HOPE Campus is a place to start.
